End of week

Well I’m currently in Sacramento and have survived a week out on the road with a trainer.  I got in 61.5 driving hours in the first 7 days.  That is very good because I met up with another trainee who started the same day I did and he only had 20 driving hours the first week.  One of the observations, or complaints, I’ve noticed that everywhere I go all people do is talk trucks.  They ask me what kinda truck I have, where I’m going, where I’ve been, how’d I get there.  I’m so tired of people not having anything else to talk about.  Don’t these people have lives?  Or have I just ventured into the colloquial world where nothing else to spoken about besides your job?
My first week out has been relatively uneventful.  I have been moving the whole time.  I really do almost miss “Lady Luck.”  One thing that made it different trucking with her is that she was FUN.  My trainer now is quite boring.  It’s work, work, work.  No time for anything even remotely fun.  I do understand that I’m here for work, but I don’t want life to pass me by while I’m out here on the road.  I know that when I get my own truck I will be able to have at least a little fun.  I will stop at the Dancing Eagle Casino at Exit 108 in New Mexico for my free CDL playing money.
The most annoying thing that my trainer does is have 20 second long burps followed by…. Excuse you.  He also randomly howls like a coyote.  At first I thought it was just to see if I was still awake and paying attention, but now I just think he doesn’t have anything else to do for fun, so he says YEE HAW or other random annoying things.  He also does fart, but has the courtesy to open the window as a warning to me to get ready for the smell.  I guess this is better than Lady Luck defecating on herself.  So I’m going to say I have a relatively normal trainer and stop complaining.
